Founder and CEO
Darren comes from a family history steeped in the entertainment industry.
His dad was a pioneering innovator in television sound and video production from the very beginnings of ATV. His childhood was spent visiting recording studios and witnessing bands such as Foreigner lay down their iconic tracks which were being produced by his big sister’s then husband.
With a joint honours degree from Aberystwyth in Economics and Finance, instead of starting an intended career in the city, Darren remained in West Wales pulled by an interest in socio-economics, exploring the values of community and the history of local markets that gave birth to the early drover fairs and festivals.
This journey over the years has resulted in Darren being a club promoter, nightclub owner, pioneering an award winning and innovative education programme in Entertainment and Music Technology, designing a festival touring solar powered cinema and stage venue, and devising the UK’s first purely organic alcohol mobile bar.
In recent years, he has taken this experience to a wider cultural sector, working on site specific projects, including; consulting and designing on the hugely successful Open Air Theatre in Chester, producing and production managing for several National Portfolio Organisations, including the finale WW1 centenary commemoration called ‘When The Light Goes Out’ at Tatton Park in Cheshire.
Always wanting to innovate and devise new models of work, Darren has now put all his knowledge together to produce an accredited training programme to help communities and disadvantaged groups develop and up-skill in Community Event Management.
